About The Gallery at Hayling
A Lifelong Passion For Art
Terence Moss’s interest in fine art began at school, where an appreciation of colour, light and composition shaped the way he saw the world. That early fascination stayed with him throughout his creative life as a writer, songwriter, artist and stage musical producer.
The idea for the gallery grew through conversations with artists and makers on Hayling Island and along the coast. Seeing good work being produced with limited opportunities for it to be shown, Terence wanted to create a place where artists could reach an audience and visitors could spend time with their work.
Today, the gallery is a place where people can take their time, ask questions and enjoy the artwork.
A Collection with Character
Our collection brings together modern, contemporary and fine art, selected for the individual character of each work. Different styles and artistic perspectives give visitors the opportunity to explore familiar interests and discover artists they may not have encountered before.
Gerard Sekoto holds a central place in the gallery. His expressive use of colour and observations of everyday life invite us to consider both the artwork and the experiences behind it.
Alongside Sekoto, we display works by Pablo Picasso, Russell Flint and L. S. Lowry. The wider collection includes Leonid Afremov, Natalia Sinkovsky, Pino Deani, Mirella Bittetti, Giuliano Trombini and Itzchak Tarkay, bringing together a varied range of subjects and approaches.
We welcome established collectors and those choosing their first piece, with time to browse and a personal approach to enquiries.
